Do Makita batteries need a low voltage cutoff?
Here is the Makita-specific bit worth knowing. Makita LXT batteries have their own internal disconnect, so the battery looks after itself and shuts down before it is over-discharged. On Milwaukee and DeWALT, ZED's built-in Smart Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) does that job instead. Either way your battery is protected.
Every ZED adapter is also internally fused and gives a regulated output, so whichever brand you run, your fridge and gear get clean, steady 12V, not raw battery voltage.
Can I use Makita batteries with other tools or adapters?
Makita LXT is its own platform. You cannot clip a Makita battery onto a Milwaukee or DeWALT tool, and a ZED adapter is built for one battery brand because the battery connection plate is different. So order the Makita base for your Makita batteries.
